ICE FIGHTERS EASTERN ICE STORM 1998

"We interrupt our regular programming to bring you this important bulletin..."

Hi this is J.P. MAC for Cool to be Canadian..

We're sending the Cool to be Canadian 4x4, loaded with an electric generator, chainsaw and tree pruning gear to the Montreal area to help in any way we can....

We're calling on the Cool to be Canadian Volunteer Action Team in Quebec to contact 1-800-636-2433 if you have a truck to help us coordinate getting firewood to people, ... know how to operate chainsaws and tree trimming equipment, or have a portable generator and will join us in offering temporary electric service to homeowners in need.

The www.cool.ca website, which we used during the huge blizzard in Manitoba last year and of course during the Manitoba Flood, is going to be updated soon for our Cool to be Canadian Volunteer efforts during the Eastern Ice Storm Recovery Operation.

For those who can't physically help us help others, but still want to help Cool to be Canadian in creating a national volunteer recognition network, check out the www.cool.ca website, see what we're all about and send a cheque for whatever you feel is appropriate to "Cool to be Canadian" care of this station.

Keep an eye out for our big white 4x4 with Manitoba plates...and you'll know it's the Cool to be Canadian Volunteer Action Team in Quebec to help those who helped Manitobans during the Flood of the Century last spring!
