Many Cool Canadians came before the people alive today. Canadian history is rich with European adventurers, pioneers and resourceful people who learned from and explored with the first nations peoples of North America.

Did you ever wonder why the beaver is a symbol of Canada?

Do you know where the name of the American city "Detroit" comes from?

Take a look at maps and read stories from the time of the Voyageurs... you'll be amazed how much of North America was travelled and given European names by the new Canadians, (all the way down to Louisiana) and how the original Canadians taught them how to survive and prosper.
